Relic Hunters Legend has exactly the kind of gaming essence that makes you want to stay glued to a screen. A looter-shooter RPG, where firing fast, scoring innumerable weapons, and personalizing your character exactly the way you want, are the focus of this game. The first time that I broke through the glass of a rare weapon, man, did I feel like a total beast. The game is built around the premise of battling foes, accumulating unique loot, and building a Hunter that would take on anything that the Ducan Empire could throw at you.
There are a few characters to choose from, and each has its own set of features. There are three Skill Trees per Hunter, and these can be mixed and matched to your liking. Add in Attribute points, Gear and Weapon slots, and a whole bunch of affixes, plus a special Relic you have to craft and level up, and you’ll see there’s a lot more RPG stuff here than it looks at first. Personally, I spend hours just running through different builds to see what feels like it works best.
Choose to play solo or have up to three friends join your adventure online. The Story campaign is a 30-hour experience that I enjoy delving into; however, it can be ignored so that you can concentrate completely on levelling and hunting loot. Unlock Hunters in a random order and traverse the world however you want. There’s just all sorts of freedom here.
Everything can be played solo or with up to four players. There are open-world Exploration zones, fast-paced Missions, and seven Game Modes such as Skirmish, Excavation, Payload, Defense, Distraction, Rift, and Assault. Special Missions with random modifiers, Delve dungeons with unique bosses, Treasure Maps, Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis, Challenge Mode-it’s honestly late-night something I did while grinding Delve bosses for rare loot because it never gets old.
Besides that, Loot is also dropped by various enemies. You can also get to know other Factions, finish their Reputation Quests, and use NPCs to Craft Up your Gear or Weapons perfectly towards your build. I found it super satisfying to craft my favorite weapon exactly the way I wanted.
