Pirate Cove Simulator Overview
The first thing when I hear the name Pirate Cove Simulator is a typical pirate game with ships, sword fights everywhere, and enemies of pirates attacking one another. However, when this game plays out for me, I find that really it’s nothing like that. You are the captain of the ship, and you have just come through a big storm, and for the moment, it looks like you have not lost a single treasure. But there is a twist: you and your whole crew are dead.
You wake up on the Island of the Damned: the last resting place for pirates lost to the sea. The cool part is that dying does not put an end to the adventure: you can earn yourself some gold and attempt to buy a base in the creepy place.
Most of the game centers around running a tavern or shop for skeleton pirates. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it’s just a joy when one watches them spend their gold on all those random items they don’t even need. I was laughing at the sight of skeletons walking around with mugs of rum that just oozed right through them. But hey, they just keep coming back, so it is endless for coins.
There’s also the fun of brewing drinks yourself. Collecting herbs and plants, experimenting with new recipes, and keeping customers satisfied is hands-down one of the best aspects of the game. Admittedly, the rum doesn’t help the skeletons, but they just want more. So goes the accumulation of gold.
And it’s not all work. In case boredom sets in, you can abandon the shop to your crew and go adventuring. Buried treasure hunting, shore fishing, and looking for rare resources scattered on the island can all be done. Some of them pay off in gold, others are fun for free, but they just relax the game.
The main objectives are pretty straightforward: collect enough gold to leave the Island of the Damned. Get left behind there forever or escape; it all depends on the degree to which you can manage your time and money.
