The Stone Simulator Just Be a Rock Review
The game is as simple as it sounds! You act as a rock-nothing more and nothing less. No superheroes, no soldiers, and not even a farmer. A rock just lying there. At first, I laughed, thinking, “Who would play this?” But I tried it, and honestly, it’s kind of fun.
Your main purpose-the only purpose-is to remain where you are. While you stay there, everything grows around you with animation. You visually see weather changes, snow falling, flowers growing, and at times, some animals running by. Gradually, your rock undergoes metamorphosis. Moss grows on you, dirt piles up, and sometimes birds even leave their little explosive gifts.
The funniest part is the achievements. You receive a reward for doing absolutely nothing! One time, I left the computer overnight, and one of the achievements I got was “Time Flies.” I found it funny because there really was nothing for me to do except just watch the rock sit there. It feels like a strange hybrid between a meditation session and a joke, but somehow it works.
Sounds of wind softly blowing and nature imbibe serenity among sounds. Basic graphics suit the atmosphere. One doesn’t play for high scores or against anyone in this title. This is a game for a stressless distraction when one needs something that is not too taxing on the brain. Sometimes I would just sit and play for a bit to relax after an exhausting day.
