STORY OF SEASONS: Grand Bazaar Overview
Once filled with life, Zephyr Town had a famous bazaar where guests flocked in from miles away, and market stalls bustled with activity. Today, it is rather hollow. The bazaars lie idle, streets feel bland, and there is hardly any spirit left in the town.
In STORY OF SEASONS: Grand Bazaar, you act as the farmer who sets out to bring the bazaar back to its past glory by planting crops, tending to livestock, manufacturing goods, and selling them every week in your own stall. The more successful the stall gets, the more customers show up, and the town begins, slowly, to stir back to life.
When I started my first game, I spent hours caring for my farm, and then I felt proud of setting up my stall in the bazaar. Watching the growing crowd every week made me feel my effort was worthwhile.
Life at the Bazaar
The bazaar is the heart of the game. Every week, there is a stand to prepare and an occasion to decorate as one pleases and sell products to the visitors. Besides farming, it is about finding out which products are in demand, strategizing, and ensuring that there is enough income to keep the business afloat.
I really loved the “build-up for bazaar day” feeling. The sense of accomplishment from selling out my goods had me mulling over what crops to plant next.
Characters and Social Life
Other than farming, you are also bound to meet many characters in town. Each one has its own personality and story. You get to talk to them, give them gifts, become friends, and perhaps even settle down with some. Conversing with residents gives a living feel to the town and adds another level to the game.
The voice acting during events helps elevate the experience. It is a new feature for the series, and it transforms the more story-based moments with a splendid flair.
Farming and Exploration
Farming isn’t solely an act of sowing seeds. There’s also milling and other product-making processes to contend with, and the weather in Zephyr Town is different from other games. The wind is an aid to farming and travel. Fun comes from gliding over the river after a busy day on the farm.
The environment is colorful and warm. I usually spent time just walking and gliding around town, enjoying how the crops looked and the market area.

If you like farming games, this one stands apart for the weekly trading concept. Most games just let you sell things in a box, but here you can do face-to-face interaction with the buyers. It feels much more like actual market life.
