Adventure of Samsara is a 2D Metroidvania game combining classic exploration elements with a hefty story. It draws concepts from the old Atari Adventure yet creates something freighted. You play as the Champion who has to wake a strange fortress that links different dimensions back to balance everything.
The world is made of interlinking zones. Every departed realm feels interrelated in some manner, and as time goes by, you discover more and more shortcuts and secret ways. The game is not just about combat; exploration with a gradual unfolding of the tale about memory, death, and rebirth is also emphasized.
The pixel art looks simplistic at first, but grows on you. While playing, I kept stopping just to check out the details in the backgrounds. Bosses are tough, as I recall, spending half an evening to take one mutant down. The moment I saw the attack pattern, though, it felt like such an achievement to win.
What made it even more enjoyable for me were little nods to the very first adventure game. It’s not a remake, but if you’re a retro gaming aficionado, you’ll see some references. That gave me a big smile because it seemed the developers really considered where it all started.

My Gameplay Moment
The first time I unlocked a new ability, I went back to an earlier area just to test it. Suddenly, a wall I thought was useless opened into another hidden path. That moment gave me the same excitement I used to get playing old Metroid games. The game rewards patience and curiosity, which is why I enjoyed it.
