The first time I played the Little Witch in the Woods PC game, I was really just looking for a chilled-out vibe to pass some time, but by far, it was so much more. The character you play is Ellie, a young witch in training who moves into a little Witch House. From there, her day-to-day life is potion brewing, exploring, and meeting local villagers.
The game is not one of those hyper-action ones. Rather, it’s a slow and calm one, but that’s the spirit of its charm. I personally liked the fact that you could just fish by the lake, decorate the house, or pet some cats while zoning out for a bit. It feels like a warm, welcoming, simple world that keeps on drawing you back.
Explore and Collect
The broom is something Ellie is set on; going up and down through the woods and crags is fun. You’ll meet caves, rivers, and hidden pathways along the way. Each site parades its own share of creatures and plants that one can harvest. All these ingredients are needed to make potions. They are not random either; potions become tools for problem-solving and opening hidden areas. I remember mixing a pot that would help me unseal a fleshy, blocked-out path, pleasure there.
Helping Villagers
People in the nearby village have all sorts of problems. As an apprentice witch, your job is to help them. In the past, I never really minded these characters, but as I continued to speak with them, they began disclosing stories of a deeper nature. It gave purpose to the game. Gradually, Ellie has been building friendships, and the connection makes the world alive.

Reason for My Liking
The coziest thing in my eyes. I did not force myself to complete quests – some days I simply went to collect plants or rearrange Ellie’s home. The game gives you room to breathe. If you like games like Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon, chances are you will like this, too.
