LEGO Voyagers caught my attention because I enjoy playing co-op games with my friends. This title comes from the developers of LEGO Builder’s Journey, but this one is all about playing together, as opposed to playing alone. The story starts with two friends on a journey to save an abandoned spaceship, slowly turning into a journey about teamwork, creativity, and connection.
Gameplay Experience
LEGO Voyagers feels slightly different from most other LEGO games. Your character moves and behaves like a real LEGO brick. You can roll, jump, snap into place, and build colorful brick-style levels. It was pretty cool to see every little detail that was incorporated into the design of each level, which resembles something I used to build with real LEGO bricks.
The game neither puts much emphasis on dialogue nor cutscenes. The visuals and music carry the story. The soundtrack is a calm one and sets the mood; hence, even though no major dialogues occur, you still acquire the message.
Co-op Adventure With Friends Pass
A definite highlight is the 2-player co-op. You can sit together on the same PC or virtually. I tried both, and both were quite smooth. My favorite feature was definitely the Friend’s Pass. Basically, if you own the game, your friend can play along without having to buy it. This made it easy for me to convince my friend to give it a go with me.
My Own Playthrough
My brother is younger, so I played LEGO Voyagers with him. Initially, we struggled with some puzzles due to a lack of teamwork. A few more tries, and we started smartly building and solving together. There’s an immense satisfaction in that moment when both players connect their actions and progress together. It made me remember how games can bond people, just as LEGO sets did back when we were children.
