Now, this is an interesting title: No, I’m Not a Human. I wasn’t really expecting anything when I installed it on my computer. At first glance, it seemed like yet another dark indie game, but the experience is more about choice and survival than anything else. The story is set in an apocalyptic world. Streets gleam burnt, the air feels smoked, and corpses are there frozen in painful shapes. I thought nighttime was safe, but that’s when the Visitors come.
Strangers Knocking
I sat for a moment alone inside the house; then came a knock on the door. A voice kept asking for help. It spoke like a human, looked like one, sounded normal. But that’s where the catch is: some are real, and some are Visitors. On my first playthrough, I trusted the wrong one, and it went south in a matter of seconds.
Trust or Die
Even if you close the door and seal yourself in, you would not stand a chance against the remaining Visitors. There are too many; sometimes, the game makes you open the door. When that happens, you must listen to their stories, watch how they act, and decide whether or not they are safe. Some might help you survive; the others would put an end to your game in a blink.
Hard Choices Every Time
The game doesn’t give easy solutions; it punishes you when you are indecisive. So you need to interrogate them, look for signs, and act before they do. There were some really hard and cold decisions that I had to take, and that is what makes it hit really hard.

Why I Liked Playing It
This is different from the other indie survival titles that I have played: this is about thinking before acting. There is nothing involving shooting or running away. You are forced to scrutinize every visitor and figure out whether he is human or not. That tension, so gradual, made it personal and intense for me.
