The first impression I had of entering Tourist Bus Simulator was that it could not be close to the real workings of a bus company. Here, one can build a bus empire on the well-known holiday island of Fuerteventura, where you don’t just drive buses but also manage the whole setup. You take care of your own routes and look after your vehicles.
In-game, you may provide a hotel shuttle, go on sightseeing excursions, or merely stick to your regular passenger routes. Slowly adding buses to your fleet while hiring drivers to watch the company’s growth feels good. I can’t forget about getting my first bus in the game, a MAN Lion’s Coach, which I then went on to design and paint according to the color of the route I was running. That was when I really began to feel like I was running something, in a sense.
The whole island was recreated well. A good driving distance is through cities, villages, and beaches to dirt roads. It’s a 1 to 5 scale map, allowing some long routes but not boringly too long. I liked discovering some of the hidden places on the map, like the small roads that led to quiet beaches.

Tourist Bus Simulator is not only about driving. There is a full economy system to take care of, including how you treat your drivers, maintenance for your buses, fuelling, and repairs, but also things like catering, WIFI for passengers, and insurance. There is also a little life simulation part, where you get to buy your own flat or estate and improve it.
Passengers board and leave the bus with nice individual interactions in a performance-oriented bus wash. New jobs and levels give you access to new routes and increased income. The sightseeing tours felt best to me since they rewarded well while exposing you to very scenic roads.

Tourist Bus Simulator is, in fact, an interesting blend of management and driving in a rather wide sense, making it so much more engaging than a simple simulator. Personally, I enjoyed the struggle of balancing my time between the route planning and actually getting behind the driving seat.
