Necesse is one of those games that, once started, draws one farther in than an ocean current. It’s an adventurous, sandbox-oriented game through which exploration renders an endless world of wonders. You can mine, craft, fight, and, once you become skilled enough, build your own settlements. I started one night on the old laptop, and by the time I knew, many hours had been spent just exploring caves and collecting loot.
Explore an Endless World
The best thing in Necesse is that no worlds are alike. The game has infinite, randomly generated worlds, filled with islands, dungeons, and various biomes. I remember the first time I went into an island filled with strange creatures, thinking to myself, “What did I just walk into?” Every island is filled with its own share of monsters, loot, and resources worthy of collection.
Traveling between islands by boat, battling fierce bosses, and uncovering treasures beneath the ground, every time you think you have explored everything, something new comes up.
Play Solo or With Friends
You can play alone or bring in friends for a bit of an experience. Personally, I had more fun playing co-op because teaming up to kill monsters made the experience way cooler. The game’s multiplayer mode is available from the start, so you and your friends can build settlements, trade items, and slay big bosses together.
Construct and Manage Your Settlement
Your business in Necesse is not only about survival but also about home-building. You can recruit settlers to your town who will farm, rear animals, and even help in crafting. I built my first small home with basic materials, and then slowly I expanded it into a busy little village. Watching my village grow and the villagers actually going about their work made the world feel alive.
There is also trading with them, and you have to protect your settlement from raiders. You start establishing storage spots, cooking stations, and alchemy tables. It gets pretty nice to witness your progress being turned into things that serve you in your other adventures.
Craft, Mine, and Farm
The crafting inside Necesse is terribly simple yet addiction-prone. Mine ores, pick resources, and use them to craft better weapons, armors, or gear. One single evening digging underground would be spent just to collect the rare materials for crafting a new weapon; oh, was it worth it!
Farming, in a way, is relaxing. You grow plants, keep animals, and use all these products during hunting for your next great adventure. It seals the other side of Necesse for you.

Necesse allows you to do whatever you want: explore, build, or fight. It is relaxing yet challenging at the same time. If you enjoy games like Terraria or Stardew Valley, then there is no doubt that you would enjoy this one.
