VEIN is a survival game that takes place in a world where everything is already gone, and the end has come. It is destroyed, the people are gone, and zombies now wander all around. You are one of the survivors trying to survive in this world.
The first time I played VEIN, I never expected it to draw me in quite this much. The world may feel empty, but it is full of life in a profound way. I remember sneaking into this old gas station looking for food when suddenly zombies started to shuffle behind me. Heart racing.
You have little to start with again, so scavenging for supplies, exploring old buildings, and facing bandit ambushes are a must. Where it really shines is in multiplayer. Of course, it helps having friends to tag along, but it can also be quite crazy because you don’t know what’s out there.
Changing World
VEIN’s world does not remain static. In time, it changes with the weather, seasons, and events. Keeping the players guessing now and again, as random but eventful happenings just unfold while trying to survive.
Smart Enemies
AI is not a joke in this game, as zombies can see, hear, and smell you. You tend to shiver every time you realize your footsteps or flashlight are causing reactions, and a few zombie types are actually faster and more deadly.
Character Personalization
You can customize your character’s body shape to statistics. I especially liked that part because it gave a sense of actually being in the world rather than just being another player.
