Escape Simulator 2 is the sequel to the popular escape room game that players have thoroughly enjoyed. New rooms, improved puzzles, and ingenious tools for building your own escape adventure are part of the package.
I played the first Escape Simulator quite a bit with my friends, and this new one feels like a big step up. The rooms are much more detailed, and the puzzles are very clever, but still fun. You can play by yourself or online with friends, making it great for solo and co-op players alike.
In this version, you get to discover many different innovative rooms designed by actual escape room designers and the best of the community. Each pack has four rooms based on a theme, but each room has its own story and mystery to provide.
The following are some of the room themes:
Dracula’s Castle: Here, you explore a dark old castle, find hidden clues, and lift a curse that haunts the town.
Starship EOS: It needs to be repaired after crashing, and as you have to find energy within a strange dark sphere, it’s about a damaged spaceship.
The Cursed Treasure: A mysterious pirate map leads you to an island riddled with traps and treasures.
The developers are already promising to add more rooms soon after launch, and that’s awesome.
It’s one of those things that make Escape Simulator 2 shine. Everything in Escape Simulator 2 is interactive. You can literally touch almost everything in a room, move things around, try to clean dirt off objects, sit on chairs, drive small vehicles, or open things to peek inside. It really simulates being stuck in an escape room.
The multiplayer mode functions well, too. Up to 8 players can join a session together, and it has built-in voice and text chat. When I tried it with my friends, it felt smooth and super fun to solve puzzles together.
For all the players who just love creating their own challenges, this is the big Room Editor 2.0 bonus feature that comes with this version of the game. The tools are now more user-friendly and have way more options. The lighting looks more natural now, and you can also create multi-level rooms with stairs. It is possible to add moving objects, story events, and cool effects through Sequence animations.
This is what the creators would call a dream tool after seeing thousands of custom rooms built by players in the first game.
