When it comes to managing and establishing your very own tavern, Tavern Keeper has it all. You can decorate the tavern, bring in workers, stock up the kitchen, pick through the assorted crowd that has interfaces with your tavern, and leave it to you how you want it; whether small, friendly, or a busy gold-earning business.
On my first playthrough, I actually did screw things up a little bit because I didn’t hire enough employees to rake in orders, and this would result in everyone getting mad. It’s just amazing how one small thing could ruin the entire tavern. That’s when it finally came clear to me that taking care of a tavern really wasn’t as easy as it appears.
Unpredictable Tavern Life
The game throws unexpected events at you, including dirt, heat, noise, sickness, and customers in all moods. Sometimes it just explodes. One day, I went to work and found half my staff had gotten sick, and suddenly, my tavern was on fire when a lamp toppled over. It felt like pure, but enjoyable, chaos.
Any small mistake will turn into a total disaster, but that made the Tavern Keeper interesting. One never knows what’s going to happen next.
Adventure Riding Across Fantasy Worlds
Tavern Keeper allows you to develop taverns in all sorts of corners across a fantasy world. Each new area has its own culture and problems to counter. You’ll meet endearing characters like immortal elementals, loquacious halflings, and even a crazy orc inventor. Each town has something new to show and keeps the game alive.
That One Choice Story
The tale behind Tavern Keeper is fully recounted by Steven Pacey, gaining that cool audiobook feel. It has hundreds of little stories that come up while you are running your tavern. Some may beg advice or a strange kind of help. What is fun, though, is that your choices really matter and thus change how the story will actually go.
Design And Create The Tavern Of Your Dreams
Design Mode allows you to furnish any aspect of your tavern just how you would like. Make it an active party den or a relaxing reading corner. There are thousands of items in that to have them placed anywhere, so creativity can go crazy about the appearance of your tavern.
Personally, I spent hours just trying to lay it out perfectly. Moving chairs and lights around until it actually looked like how I imagined it was made quite relaxing once you got into it.
Craft and Share Your Creations
In addition, Tavern Keeper gives you a chance to create your own furniture and decorative elements. You can merge items, add magical effects, and create something that is entirely your own. You can then share your creations with other online players. It’s rewarding when others appreciate what you have made.
