The first thing that had me riveted about Hail to the Rainbow was watching the life of a solitary fellow called Ignat. He lived in a dark and miserable world after the Overall War. Few souls were left. Everyone learned how to survive in this new life. For Ignat, the loss of his parents would actually lead him somehow to grow up on his own. He learned these things the hard way, and honestly, it kind of reminded me of my own times when I had to pick things up on my own, living in a hostel once with no one to guide me.
For years, he follows his slow rhythm until, at some point, a strange event occurs in his email. His whole track takes a twist from there.
Hail to the Rainbow is a first-person action-adventure game leaning towards storytelling and horror shooting. Walk through a broken-down cyberpunk universe and confront its myriad dangers. The game is laden with secrets and fine details with which you interact. You also see Ignat’s antiquated memories and the agony he carries. While you explore a visit places, check electronic files, solve small tech puzzles, collect items, and upgrade your gear, all these would give you a better chance of progressing.
