Amanda the Adventurer 3 starts right where the last one ended. You play as Riley Park, in search of the truth about Amanda and Hameln, that strange company.
It all began when Riley found some strange tape from Aunt Kate. This starts a chain of events revolving around an old kids’ show called Amanda the Adventurer. In the last part, Riley survived the creepy attic by escaping the Kensdale Public Library, aided by a mysterious masked lady. Now the story moves to another location, an old Hameln facility that has been abandoned for many years.
The best thing I remember about playing the first and second of those games was really chill. The tapes, the voices, the strange feeling that Amanda knows somehow you’ve been watching her – all this is awesome, creepy, and exciting. So, when I played part 3, it really seemed everything was finally connected.
The final chapter feels more ensemble, mixing the escape-room puzzles from earlier games with other unique story turns. You have to closely examine the tapes again since they hide clues with which to move forward. Amanda and her “friends” arrive in an entirely new series of 90s-style CGI scenes that feel nostalgic, yet still creepy.
The Hameln facility consists of locked rooms and files, and things that will explain to you what really happened to Amanda, Aunt Kate, and the entire crew behind that cursed show.
If you played the first or second game, this one really provides closure. And for the newcomers, it gets into the mystery slowly enough to explain what happened before.
