A Fan-Made Horror Experience
The Backrooms fan game throws you straight into some of the creepiest levels you have seen. The main one is based on “Level !,” where you are sprinting down some 10 kilometers of hallway in red lights and alarms. And the entire time, something is chasing you. No breaks. No mercy. It’s pure adrenaline. If you wish for the experience, you know you can run the entire length. The ambiance is very intense, sound design tears apart your sanity, and it does feel somewhat like an actual fight for survival.
Starting with that, “Level !-!” seems to have the walls of this dark red hotel hallway shifting when you’re not looking. Then there is “Level -!,” where electricity keeps going out, and a sensation tells you that something is lurking in the dark. “Level ¡” makes you stand perfectly still under an eerie blue light while God knows what watches you. Every level changes the rules, so you have to stay sharp and watch for patterns to clock your moves perfectly. No jump scares, only constant tension.
