When I first heard about DAVY x JONES free download for Windows PC, I thought it was just another pirate game. But after playing it just a little, I realized it was the complete opposite. Instead of being just a random story about sailing and treasure, this one completely twists around the legend of Davy Jones.
The pirate is betrayed, robbed of treasure, and eventually executed. But instead of staying dead, he wakes in The Locker, a weird afterlife for sailors. That is where his new journey begins.
Playing As Both Body And Skull
What makes this game unique is how you control Davy Jones. His body, headless, is followed by his skull. While the body engages in battle and movement, the skull keeps chattering with hints. It somehow feels like playing two characters at once, and sometimes the back-and-forths between the skull and body made me chuckle.
The mechanic is extraordinarily captivating, as I have not seen it in other pirate action-adventure games. The intrigue stayed with me even through lengthy combat sessions.
Exploring The Locker
The world you explore is called The Locker, a pirate underworld cut into nine floating islands. Each island has a different vibe. Some look rather eerie with phantom-like enemies, while others feel open like giant brawling arenas.
This game gives up on the kind of enemies that will give me a headache. I came across cursed pirates, strange monsters, and, finally, great beasts of the sea like the Kraken. Fighting them turned out to be an adventure and survival spree; it somehow engraved each of these islands in my memory.

My Thoughts After Playing
To me, it was kinda interesting how the game managed to combine story with combat: it was not all about fighting but also collecting Davy’s lost artifacts to gradually restore what he lost. The main villain is Blackbeard, while the tussle with him serves as an excellent incentive to press on.
