Honestly, when I first installed Deadly Days Roadtrip on my PC, I did not think I could survive even for a couple of minutes. You enter the game at the very pixel-y zombie apocalypse, and every excursion is entirely different. You choose a route, find survivors, and see how many days you can go onward.
Every run feels fresh. Some runs earned fabulous loot almost immediately, while others have seriously challenged me to keep going. The construction of your backpack is the fun part. Items/weapons fit into blocks of grid spaces, and arranging them in a specific manner increases prior effects. I messed it up at first, but eventually was able to figure out how strong some combinations might be after a few runs.
The more you play, the more survivors can be gathered. Each character brings something new: special abilities or their own unique weapons. That was my favorite part because it really does change every run based on who joins your base. Collecting survivors was that little extra incentive to get at it some more.
Loot is significant in Deadly Days Roadtrip. The slots of that backpack are very few, so you’re not allowed to pick everything at once. There was this one run in which I had to choose between keeping a superweapon or a rare item that increased my speed. Such choices do matter; however, the Enemy is a larger obstacle. You can clear the zombies like nothing if you lay them down duly.
You get random airdrops when you level up, and sometimes, they end up shooting your sprint completely. At times, it gives you something funny, like the banana suit, only pure chaos. These little moments kept me glued.
