WHAT IS THE STORY OF DOOMER SIMULATOR?
The game immerses you in the gloomy existence of a doomer in an almost ruined Soviet style apartment. The walls are stained, the lights work just barely, and the whole atmosphere feels heavy with emptiness.
It takes place in the late 2000s: neither here nor there. You drag yourself to work at a dead-end factory job; you eat cheap food; you drink too much tea just to get by. The excitement comes from monotony repackaged again and again.
The setting itself lies in a clumsy junction between the decaying old Soviet world and some cheap materialistic modernism. Broken radios, faint posters, and plastic trash adorn the space. Depressing, yes, yet oddly familiar.
Time outside the work gets spent by doing nothing, slobbing along empty streets, chain smoking, or just staring at the ceiling. Yet nothing ever changes.
