Ichiban Kasuga is anything but the stereotypical hero. An underclass Yakuza member, he spends 18 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. By the time he comes out, the world has turned against him, his clan wiped out by a once-esteemed father figure. With no one left to stand for him, Ichiban goes on the hunt for the truth and a chance to rebuild his life. He picks up an equally ragtag team along the way: a disgraced cop, a homeless former nurse, and a tough hostess with her own agenda. Together, they become entrenched in a dangerous power struggle in the streets of Yokohama.
This game contrasts massively with other equivalents in the Yakuza series with its deep RPG-like combat. You can choose from 19 different jobs-from bodyguard to musician-with each offering its own impressive moves/routines. Wild weapons such as traffic signs, bicycles, and even umbrellas can be resorted to in combat. Apart from fighting, you will have loads of fun-kart racing, singing karaoke, and sidestepping through endless side stories of the city. And the world is so alive that you never know what else lies around the corner.

The storyline somehow maintains an equal balance between heartfelt drama and hilarious comedy, whereas battles are fun because of the turn-based system.
