Play our character Eddy, a laid-back sloth chasing speed as he carves down winding roads, performs some smooth drifts, and nails stylish tricks. As you keep playing, you will unlock more gear, things like new boards, wheels, and outfits, every run with its own sense of feel.
What I love about Driftwood is how pick-up-and-play it is. There’s no story to speak of, and there are no complicated controls: just you, the road, and the easy-flowing downhill skating. The visuals are bright and vivid, while the accompanying soundtrack maintains a relaxed vibe, even if you are racing at top speed. It can be played in single-player mode, multiplayer with friends online, or score-challenging on the leaderboard.
This was built by just two people, one did the art, the other wrote the code, and you can really tell that they put their heart and soul into it. The game isn’t a giant open world, which adds to its charm. Each level is handcrafted to be as fun as possible, with tight corners to navigate around, obstacles to dodge, and plenty of space to show off your skills.
