The Jotunnslayer Hordes of Hel is a roguelike survival game where you pass trials by confronting endless monsters that attempt to keep you down. You can select from various heroes, each with its own approach, striving against waves of enemies, all based on Norse mythology.
The first time I played it, I thought I could stand there and fight everything at once, but I got decimated almost instantly. The game teaches you fast: strategy is more important than button-mashing. Each run felt different because of random quests and enemies coming at different times.
Key Features
Endless Horde Battles: Endless enemy waves to battle to survive as long as possible.
Quest During Runs: Every journey has small missions that push you for a different kind of play. Some runs had me focusing on defeating enemies quickly, while others had me biding my time and exploring carefully.
Upgrades and Unlocks: As the game progresses, you unlock skills, weapons, and perks that make future runs easier.
Norse Setting: Roam through the Nine Worlds, each granting tougher fights and unique challenges.
In my opinion, the upgrades were the most addictive part. Whenever I died during a run, I would always want to try again with the new upgrades unlocked. This kept me going on and on.

My Experience Throwing Down in Jotunnslayer
I’ve played lots of roguelike games, but Jotunnslayer Hordes of Hel was a breath of fresh air with its Norse theme. I could barely last 10 minutes until some new perks were unlocked, and I finally bested one of the bosses; that was a truly rewarding moment. The game is hard but fair.
If your type of game is the one that offers constant improvements upon consecutive deaths, then this game is worth your while. The balance of survival, upgrades, and randomly generated quests keeps it less stale compared to the other horde survival games.
