I recently played LockYourDoor with my friends, and it was scary in a fun way. The game accommodates one to four players, so you can play alone or invite friends. While we played together, we stayed on a call since some parts of the game get dark and require teamwork. You navigate the map, explore every corner, and try to figure out what’s happening while strange occurrences unfold.
The game allows you to make small choices that affect how your group survives. Sometimes we helped each other, but other times, one friend would run off and leave the rest of us behind. It became a bit funny when someone panicked and slammed a door in our faces.
As the game progresses, it gets tougher. Over time, dangers become more active, and your light dims. Once, our flashlight nearly died, and we had to move carefully, which heightened the tension. Darvin gives slight hints, so we frequently check his advice to manage new challenges. You really have to think before you act.
Locking doors is a key feature of this game. Each player finds different keys for various rooms, allowing you to open or lock doors based on your strategy. At night, the atmosphere becomes even scarier. Some nights, we stayed close together because the sounds in the dark felt too real.
There are many monsters in LockYourDoor, and each one has its own behavior. The AIs have different habits, strengths, and weaknesses. The first time we encountered a fast monster, we all screamed on the call and scattered in various directions. After that, we began to study how each creature behaved.
Darvin’s notes and journal are also helpful. While playing, we gathered pages and tried to piece together what happened to him. These notes really help when you’re stuck or confused.
The game features many items, each serving a purpose. The more you play, the better you understand how everything works.
