Medicus – Overview
I tried out Medicus last night on my laptop, and it truly fits the description of one of those games that look quite simple to begin with but draw you in. You be the medieval way of saying “alchemist,” or to put it in the vernacular, medicus. You have a small shop where you brew potions in a medieval town that leans heavily on you for healing.
Your daily grind involves brewing potions, searching for rare ingredients, and dealing with different townsfolk who keep coming with their problems. At times it’s fun and easygoing, while at other times it gets tough balancing recipes, funds, and stock. I messed up before by running out of herbs and was made to wait for a restock, which really threw a wrench in my progress. That whole shopkeeper-feeling kicked in.
As you carry on, there is a lot of scope for turning that little shop of yours into something great. You may hire many assistants for help, unlock new recipes, and also do some research for upgrades. I really like the process of combining the varieties of herbs and minerals for really interesting potions. There is a sense of satisfaction in discovering something new.
The feel of the game is cozy. The isometric art style gives life to the medieval town without overwhelming it with glamour; it fits the atmosphere really well. They had a recent update, where there is a volume slider, and that crash in the background they managed to solve is always a plus in my books-the little fixes that make the game that much better.
If you enjoy games where you can take your time, be open-minded, and gradually build your reputation, then Medicus would be perfect. I found it soothing yet an engaging thought-provoking strategy with a unique, fun twist. You may also be interested in: Dungeon Defenders – Warden Hero DLC Free Download for Windows PC
