My Experience with Megabonk
So I first tried Megabonk on my old PC, anticipating little from the game because of its small size. After a couple of rounds, however, I found myself playing for hours at a time. The maps change every time, so you never really get bored. Sometimes the loot and upgrades come through for me, and then sometimes I’m torn apart in the first few minutes. That’s really the fun of it.
What is Megabonk
Megabonk is a roguelike survival action game for the PC, with a simple aim: live as long as you can. Every run is new because maps are randomly generated: You fight waves of enemies, loot, boss hunts, and develop a character into the beast of a tank it will become.
Level Up and Upgrade
Gaining XP is obtained through slaying enemies. XP translates to leveling and deciding which upgrades your character will get. Since upgrades are random, even upon leveling, one can never be completely sure of what one’s going to get. Some runs give you strong weapons early on, making you feel unstoppable, while others throw you off with weaker options. It is just that such randomness makes the game really fun to replay.
Unlock New Stuff
Megabonk never stops unlocking things. There are quests to complete, new characters to try out, and items to collect.

Unlocking my first new character totally changed my gameplay. Each character feels different and forces you to try out new strategies.
