Boy, oh boy, what a flashback when I first put my hands on NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered on the PC! Went back to that childhood feeling of the NFS games. Anyway, the speed racing still goes buck wild, with you choosing to be either a racer or a cop. Both sides feel fun. Sometimes I feel like running; sometimes, I just want to chase folks, depending on my mood.
It’s all about speed, racing, and those moments when you almost squeeze past another car. I remember getting caught up during a late-night police chase, so much so that I was about to fall off my chair in excitement. That’s the energy this game is endowed with.
Best of all, it retains that traditional concept of cops vs. racers but with a facelift. The remastered graphics make the roads, cars, and even lights. It was surprising for me, given that I managed to play on some mid-range PC without hiccups.
Cross Platform Multiplayer & Autolog
If you race against your friends, then Autolog practically invites you. It would show what your friends are doing, putting small challenges on your face, like beating their time. I sometimes find it annoying to race against my friend for the last couple of seconds on the same track for half an hour. Then again, with cross-platform play, you are racing people on another device. This gives an active feel to the game.
All Main DLC Included with More Updates
In this version, the extra DLC comes packaged straight in. You get more hours to play, more challenges, and some new minor stuff like new wraps, colors, and a better photo mode. I also spent a good deal of time in there trying to get a few cool car shots at sunset. Some of the updates are to clean up a few ironing issues and make it smoother.
Exotic Cars with Weapons
The cars are the main reason I even enjoy playing this game. They give you any kind of supercar, and as a cop, you are given measures to stop them, like EMP and spike strips. As a racer, you still have tools to protect yourself. Some races can get tight when everyone is trying to take you out.
Chase and Escape Modes
The single player lets you play both sides. I enjoyed the racer side more, mainly because escaping is fun for me, but the cop missions are cool too when you want to smash into someone and stop them before they get away. You earn bounty and unlock stuff while progressing through it.
Enhanced Visuals
Looks new and better than the old one. The new version caught my eye to see how much better the lighting and reflections are while I’m racing.
