I started playing Overlooting a few weeks back; it surprised me in many ways. Three rather distinct characters come together in the story. You have Maximilian, who is a brave hero from a noble family; Liz, a thief who is hunted across many countries; and The Shadow, a figure most people believe to be the root of all corruption. They form a very strange but strong team with one goal: to save the world from the spreading darkness.
Loot Collection and Equipment
Collection is the primary activity in Overlooting. When I played, I realized that it is practically a necessity for the equipment. If it can be found as sufficient, the rest of the set unlocks special powers upon its completion. This forced me to consider much more carefully what to keep and what to leave behind.
Skill Tree System
The skill tree is one of my favorite aspects that changes with each game; this is what makes each playthrough feel so different. You may get general upgrades like movement boosts, the addition of attack power, or even skills focused solely on making one build extremely powerful. I had an interesting twist on long runs, as I tried new paths each time through the skill trees.
Fighting the Bosses
At the end of each region, you meet a boss. These bosses are pretty tough and also intelligent. Honestly, the first battle was a disaster indeed; I rushed in without having any plan at all. After that, I learned to prepare well, pick the right skills for me, and think about my equipment before entering a new area. Every boss fight felt like a really big test of my choices along the way.
