The Story
Prey is particular of those games that really sucked me in when I first played it. The story starts with you waking up on Talos I, which is a huge space station orbiting the moon in 2032. You are not just any character; you are the main subject in an experiment that is supposed to change the future of mankind. Almost immediately, things go awry. The station becomes infested with strange, dangerous alien life-forms that hunt you the moment you move.
It’s a space station where secrets about Talos I are revealed, and it even speaks of secrets about yourself. You wouldn’t want to be seen because every step might be your last. And to survive, you’ll have to use anything you find, whether it’s weapons, tools, or special abilities you unlock during the game. The fate of every individual on Talos I now hangs on the choices you make.
I distinctly remember the first time I met a mimic (one of the aliens). At first, it looked like a normal chair, but then it suddenly jumped up and attacked me. That moment made me realize how smart and creepy this game is.
Features
Sci-fi Survival Adventure
Nothing feels normal aboard Talos I. As Morgan Yu, you follow clues left to yourself before everything turned to custard. The more you play, the more you learn about TranStar and the alien threat growing across the station.
Unique Space Station Setting
Talos I is no ordinary station. It looks like a cross between soulless corporate luxury from the 1960s and a futuristic tech facility. Walking its halls makes one feel as though one is in a hotel turned laboratory. All rooms connect to one another in a non-linear manner, and many hidden places remain to be discovered by those who keep searching.
Alien Threats All Over
The enemies in Prey are not just random monsters; they act as a living system, always adapting and destroying. You are one of the last humans left alive, so it is your job to push back and stop them from wiping you out.
Play as You Like
Another thing I liked about Prey is that you get to choose your own path. You can obtain alien abilities that make you stronger and more creative in fights. You can make weapons and tools with blueprints you find scattered about the station. Sometimes, I just went gung-ho with heavy guns, while at other times, I would sneak around using abilities. The freedom makes the game replayable. You may also be interested in: Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Free Download (v1.0.40P) for Windows PC
