Psychoscopy Overview
The player in Psychoscopy becomes a paranormal investigator cum content creator. It then involves visiting a site haunted by supernatural elements, recording whatever ghostly evidence you can find, and uploading the discovered evidence to the Psychoscopy website through the in-game application to earn a living from it. The tools for ghost hunting are all specialized to hunt for various kinds of paranormal happenings, and before someone goes inside a site, the member of the exploration crew gets the initial scout reports prepared by the exploration team. Add investigatory work, eerie vlogging, and a creepy haunt in one, and you get the whole Psychoscopy experience.
There are over 20 distinct entities in the game, divided into the following four categories: ghosts, spirits, demons, and mythical beings. An entity will behave differently, and it will have a different method of self-defense. The challenge is to recognize the entity correctly before countermeasures can be taken, since using the wrong approach can worsen the situation.
Some entities are quite responsive to questions. You can ask them to do something or even spell things out with a Ouija board. The experience will often be creepy, tense, highly concentrated, and unpredictable.
Locations are huge with several areas for you to traverse, though some places will not have ghosts. The hints given by your team, plus the provided map, would be important for you to achieve an efficient exploration. You can team up with four friends, plan ways to ration responsibilities, and dig deeper into unearthing the best evidence.
Gaining money from the uploads gradually unfurls new characters and upgrades in gear as one plays. A new piece of equipment means higher quality evidence and encounters that are riskier. When it’s done, right-click on it and Extract to Psychoscopy(zip-file name included). Requires 7-Zip – Get it online if you do not have it.
Click the Psychoscopy folder, and then double-click on the .exe to start the game.
Always run the game as an administrator. If you see missing .dll errors, go to the Redist or _CommonRedist folder and install everything you find there.
