Slots & Daggers was my discovery at a time when I craved something entirely different, and so different from playing SUMMERHOUSE. I honestly didn’t expect one of those games that surprises with simplicity, but is entertaining at the same time. This has that weird but really cool combo of slot-machine gameplay and fantasy RPG elements. You will see numbers, fights, and goblins popping up in the most random but satisfying ways.
For me, this game has something great that is neither too big nor too complicated. There is this lightness to it, yet it still pulls you in. It is made by Friedemann, the same author who penned SUMMERHOUSE, and you can tell it is a solo project done with proper care. The whole thing feels handcrafted in a good way, and the drawings look a bit rough but are charming in their own way.
At first, I did not know what to expect from this slot-style RPG, but after a few minutes, all I could do was stare at those little coins dropping from the screen. It’s addictive. And the combination of retro visuals, funny goblin characters, and crunchy hip-hop beats in the background gives it an incredibly unique feeling.

My Opinions:
Slots & Daggers really caught me off guard. At first sight, it seems nothing much, but as soon as you get into it, it is oddly satisfying. The sound of coins, the strange little goblins, and the fast-paced spins make it a great short game when you want something chill but still exciting.
