Spindle really is indeed one of the ones that just came out with this weird but interesting storyline. One day, you wake up to a world that doesn’t feel normal. And here comes the big surprise-you’re Death. Yes, real actual Grim Reaper! But then comes the real answer: if you’re Death, why can no one die anymore? That’s where adventure begins.
Spindle was more than a game that I got as a gift to make my head go around in circles. The whole idea of being Death on a pig seemed funny, but the whole thing seemed way deeper once I started playing. The pig is your main companion throughout the story. Together with you, it will find answers in a broken world that doesn’t feel quite right.
A Pig as Your Partner
Instead of the usual hero partner, like a wise mentor or a talking sword, here your buddy is just a pig. It sounds silly, but the relationship between Death and the pig actually makes the game real and believable. Warm and emotional, even as the themes are quite dark.
Exploring Dungeons
There are a lot of things that occur in the dungeons in Spindle. Dungeons are scattered with puzzles, traps, and enemies. Simply swinging your scythe everywhere doesn’t give you the full effect. You have to look around carefully and think before moving forward. Some of the puzzles really made me stop and figure things out, which I actually liked.
Facing the Bosses
Out in the far deeper dungeons, there are huge, terrifying bosses for you to conquer. Each one feels different and brings its own style of fight. Some of them will appear to be guarding lost souls, since others could most probably be behind the whole “no one can die” mess. The boss fights are challenging but fair, and beating them felt quite rewarding.
What Makes It Fun
One wears the Grim Reaper’s cape and discovers what it is to be Death in reality.
You can also pet that pig and sometimes play as it.
The entire world looks great with astonishing places full of secrets and lovely sights to visit.
There are five dungeons, each one of which holds traps, puzzles, and surprises.
Varied fights from small creatures to huge bosses.
Every character in the story develops and changes throughout the story.
The storyline makes you wonder about life, death, and what they mean.
So, honestly, the reason it kept me hooked was the way it combined interesting gameplay with a story that makes players care. I didn’t think a game about Death could tug those heartstrings so well, but somehow, Spindle is able to do that.

My Thoughts
I have really enjoyed playing Spindle, but this is not like other normal action games. This is emotional, fun, and quite weird in a good way. The pig companion makes the journey feel less lonely, and the story keeps you guessing to the end. If you are searching for an adventure game that holds meaning, mystery, and worth, then this one is definitely one to try out.
