Unravel Two is one of those games that appear deceptively easy but ends up giving you a very memorable adventure. It gives you control over small characters made of yarn called Yarnys as you navigate through the puzzles that require teamwork and clever thinking. The game can be played solo in controlling both Yarnys, or locally co-op together with a friend, which honestly feels more fun and natural.
The atmosphere truly came through when I first tried it. It begins in this dark, cold space, but as you move on, the world slowly comes alive. All of the colors pop out, landscapes open, and suddenly you feel you’re part of something really growing and tying it all together. It was even better playing with a friend since creating little rewards with teamwork by solving problems together made the experience even richer.
What makes Unravel Two different
Always has two Yarnys
With a friend, you can either play together or control both Yarnys by yourself. In my opinion, co-op is more enjoyable since you solve puzzles together, and that felt satisfying, but even while playing alone, switching between the Yarnys gives a unique twist.
Beautiful environments
Inspired by Scandinavian landscapes and towns, the game’s levels show both forests and rivers with cliffs, together with built environments. You will also have to stop for a moment just to look at the details put into the level design.
Fun puzzles
Puzzles are clever but not difficult. You will be jumping, swinging, climbing, and tying yarn to objects to advance further. It sometimes made me scratch my head, but once out, the solution always felt fair.
Emotional story
This is more than just rushing through levels. The game is about linking emotion to action using a story as a plot. You will immerse yourself with friendly characters, scary beasts, which represent your fear, and learn all about trust and hope. Staying positive does help in the worst situations, which indeed sounded very real, even outside of gaming.

My Experience
Unravel Two is that kind of game that connects you both while playing it. I played it solo as well as with a friend; the co-op side definitely seemed more engaging because there was laughter and stuck moments shared while solving puzzles together. Alone, though, it was quite an enjoyable experience, especially with the puzzle, because switching between Yarnys brings a different type of challenge.
It’s a nice mix of puzzle-solving, adventure, and emotional storytelling that doesn’t come off as forced. If one wants a game to relax with while having it actually mean something, Unravel Two deserves space on your PC.
