As mentioned, in Void War, you are steering an aged starship on a mission to help defend the remnants of a dying empire. Enemies that will face you include truly crazy cultists, space pirates, and mind-defecting imperial soldiers.
To me, the most enjoyable aspect was upgrading your ship. You stumble upon these almighty artifacts that are used to turn that ship into a complete monster. The level of customization is quite deep; weapon types, modules, and reactor setups can be mixed and matched for some really insane combinations. But the catch is that your enemies get to do the same. So, better stay alert.
Crew & Combat
You will recruit crew members, gear them up, and have them engage in brutal boarding battles from six factions. Seeing their fight is so intense: sometimes they just dominate, and sometimes.. well, space is merciless. Maintaining variety involves several hundred random encounters so that no two playthroughs will ever feel the same.
